Louise’s expertise lies in working with organisations to assist them in the identification and implementation of their Human Resource Development Strategies. In recent years she has been developing her practice as a specialist in Cross Cultural issues and an Executive Coach. She is English and since 1992 she has been living and working away from the United Kingdom. She has spent 6 years in Madrid, 12 months in Athens and since 1999 Barcelona has been her home. Her first professional qualifications were gained in Hotel and Catering Management at what is now Oxford Brookes University. In her early career she worked in hotels in Germany, France, Switzerland and England. After several years in operations she joined the Hotel and Catering Training Board where she specialised in Training and Development and assessed and advised a portfolio of hotel companies with headquarters in the London area. In 1987 Louise completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from (the now) Middlesex University, which led to full membership of the now Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. At about the same time she was recruited to take over the Training and Development function at Liberty of London, Retail. At the end of the 1980’s Novotel began its expansion into the UK and Louise was called back to her former client to be the first Human Resource Executive on the UK Management team. In this role she spearheaded projects that were initiated locally or at a European level and worked with people at all levels to ensure that the business objectives were met. In 1992, Louise moved to Madrid (for family reasons) and a new position was created for her in Accor Hotels as the Human Resource Executive for Spain. Louise’s ability to adapt, her influencing and professional skills together with the speed that she learnt Spanish enabled her to successfully introduce projects such as development centres for Hotel Managers, management systems using competencies and career management programmes. In 1995 Louise started to work as an independent consultant and in 2000 she completed the Ashridge Master in Organisation Consulting. She is currently completing the Advanced Diploma in Executive Coaching with the Academy of Executive Coaching in the UK. Louise is a founding partner and general manager of SCHUBERT CONSULTING, an organisational consultancy based in Barcelona, and is also director of COS (Centre for Organisation Studies) which was originally founded by Jose Maria de Anzizu, a local Catalan entrprenuer and has its base in EADA. Louise is married to Werner who is Austrian and their twin children were born in Madrid. In her spare time she loves to be in the open air enjoying activities with her family or lost in a good book when time allows. Besides English (her mother tongue) she speaks Spanish, French, German and Catalan.
